Beach Gear, Sitting and Reward Balance
Beach umbrellas and towels
- Item vendors now sell Beach Umbrellas and Beach Towels for 10 G each.
- Each item vendor offers its own versions, with procedurally generated colors, patterns and proportions. The same vendor keeps the same variants when you return.
- Click an umbrella or towel in your inventory to place it on suitable ground in front of your character. These items are reusable and are not consumed when placed.
- You can have up to four placed objects at a time. Placing another removes your oldest one; placing the same variant again moves it to the new location.
- Interact with a placed towel to lie down and relax. Movement, jumping or attacking gets you back up. The crosshair and object highlights are hidden while resting.
Sitting and tools
- Added Sit, bound to H by default and configurable in Controls. Press it again to stand up, or move, jump or attack to stop sitting.
- Added a Tools inventory tab for umbrellas, towels, hang gliders and boats.
- Clicking a hang glider or boat in the inventory now activates Hang Gliding or Sailing, just like the quick-item button, once the corresponding skill is unlocked.
Reward balance
- XP, drops and rewards from enemies and encounters now use a source level capped at your level + 3. This also applies to bosses, chests and NPC rewards.
- For example, a level 5 player defeating a level 13 boss receives XP and rewards calculated for a level 8 boss, including level 8 equipment drops.
- Pets have the same XP limit, based on their own level. This limits extremely fast leveling when joining much higher-level players.
Interface and crafting
- NPCs no longer display a level. Player and pet levels remain visible.
- Buying, buying back and crafting items now trigger pickup notifications, including red warnings when your inventory is full or an item’s carrying limit is reached.
- Moved pickup notifications to the bottom right, above the inventory, crafting, skills and map buttons.
- Holding the crafting button now stops quietly when ingredients run out. Clicking an unavailable recipe directly still plays the error sound.
